Village Writer’s Retreat

New York City
This apartment was designed around the new CAMPION “Campaign Furniture” line. We transformed a writer’ss Pied-a-Terre into a richly appointed bachelor’s entertaining apartment. Owing to the owner’s large book collection, we divided rooms with airy bookshelves in dark ebony and steel fittings. The overall theme is masculine, but the decor and spirit is decidely relaxed and informal.

Country Manor

Southampton, NY
We combined a full renovation and expansion for this 1940s clinker brick style house in the estate section of Southampton. The client requested a sophisticated summer retreat to display an eclectic art collection while providing a relaxed entertaining atmosphere. The theme evolved to a country lodge featuring a whimsical play on traditional lodge elements including antler curtain rods, rope finials and distinct Asian restraint to compliment the client’s own life and style. A glass roofed terrace connects all the entertaining rooms for a year-round indoor-outdoor entertaining experience.

Historic Captain’s House

Sag Harbor, Ny
For this 1850’s historic renovation of a Captain’s house, we envisioned a worldly ship captain coming home after years of collecting and traveling. The furniture is period, personal and modern in interpretation. While respecting the local vernacular, we added large family areas by raising the house, building a basement recreation center and adding a double-height kitchen. Included was the renovation of a pond guest cottage and a large undulating retaining wall to counter the steep slope to the water’s edge.

Sky Lounge

New York City
Connecting the interior to the lofty Central Park view provided the design direction. The furniture and detailing were simple, allowing the exterior view to dominate the aesthetics. Using an interior greenhouse and large folding panels allowed for rooms to overlap creating a high rise loft experience. All the furniture was created to enhance this unique experience.
