Corcoran and 1stdibs have combined forces for a special design edition of Corcoran's Luxury Collection, where a selection of New York City's most luxurious properties will be spotlighted as '1stdibs Designer Picks'. This will be the first-ever 'design issue' in which a select group of well-known interior designers (who are the first to admit they are "real estate junkies" to the nth degree) will share what they love about these amazing homes. The list of talented designers includes Amy Lau, Campion Platt, Brad Ford, Ernest de la Torre, Philip Gorrivan, Laura Kirar and 2Michaels (Jayne & Joan Michaels) who invite readers to enter some of New York's most incredible spaces, as seen through their eyes. 1030 Fifth Avenue, Apartment 3W: Stunning! There really is no other way to describe this newly gut renovated home. It epitomizes an incredible level of taste, style and sophistication, while still retaining a sense of warmth and comfort for day-to-day living and entertaining. Only the finest fixtures and finishes have been utilized throughout, touching every single inch of this 12-into-9-room residence. Entrance is directly from the locking elevator into an oversized multi-columned gallery with a powder room. Directly in front is the living room with wood burning fireplace, flanked by the dining room with wood burning fireplace on one side and the corner library on the other. All three of these rooms face Fifth Avenue and enjoyunobstructed views of Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, arguably Manhattan's single most beautiful architectural facade. The primary bedroom wing runs down the south-facing East 84th Street side of the building, with an oversized master suite and bathroom, as well as two additional bedrooms with bathrooms en suite. A fourth bedroom and bathroom are across the bedroom hallway. The enormous windowed chef's kitchen with all top appliances is behind the dining room, as are a large pantry and laundry room. The building itself is a highly sought after and serviced white-glove prewar cooperative located at the epicenter of the Upper East Side.
